Hey Stitch Cutie,
Today marks the first full week of Stitch365. WooHoo! The Day Seven Tip is a lot of fun … its all about the scribble stitch and straight stitch!
Julie’s tip today is to try incorporating the scribble stitch and straight stitch into your applique projects. What’s the scribble stitch you ask? Check it out in the video …
The scribble stitch is what Julie calls a wiggly straight stitch. It is a very forgiving stitch and is a lot of fun to do! You can see in this close up picture below that you can even scribble outside of the lines and it still looks really cute!
The straight stitch is another great option for your machine applique projects. Simply stitch about 1/8″ from the outer edge of your applique piece and voila, your project looks amazing! Here is a close up of the straight stitch around the flowers. Notice how Julie used a variety of machine applique stitches to make the flowers – mix those stitches and add texture to your project!
As always, please share this tip with your friends! Even if the tip is something you already know, you never know who else will learn something new today! Please subscribe to our emails and select Stitch365 so we can deliver Stitch365 to your inbox everyday! And yes, Stitch365 is FREE!
