Many of the Stitches of Love Block of the Month Quilts are available to complete using your Embroidery Machine and an 8″ by 12″ hoop.
You want the inside, stitchable area of your hoop to measure 8″ wide and 12″ tall. Your hoop will likely have the size printed on the front of it. If that measurement is in millimeters (mm) simply Google “mm to inches” and Google will give you a quick calculator. As long as the width is larger than 8″ and the height is larger than 12″ you are all set!
If your hoop is smaller than 8″ by 12″, there is probably an upgrade to your machine or a larger hoop available. You will want to call your Embroidery Machine Dealer and ask what options are available for your specific machine.
If you are in the market for a new machine, it is always a good idea to ask about all the hoop sizes available and how future upgrades work. Many new machines have extra-large hoops that allow for so many more project options. So fun!
